yest you can start and complete a divorce while still living in the same residence. However i would suggest you have a property settlement agreement drawn up detailing about assets and how they are to be split after the divorce. This is important for tax consequences which may become relevant if you fail to determine these issues as well as debts, hom much each will pay of household expenses pending the sale of the property and many other issues.
