Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

cohabittation law

I lived with my girlfriend for 12 yrs., we own a house together for 7 of those years. I was asked to move out and did so. what are my rights concerning the equity in the house? Also can I ask to have a new asessment on the house?

If both names are on the deed and there is no written agreement that says different you are 50/50 owners. To avoid complex and expensive litigation one or the other should buy the other out. Otherwise, I would recomend filing for a partition. In this case it would force the sale of the property. Either way you should consult with an attorney.
