Since PA no longer recognizes common law marriages, what is the classification for people who are and or were in a common law situation prior to the courts desicion to abolish the common law practice in PA?

You asked about common law marriage.

Common law marriages that were established and recognized before the effective date of the self uniting law are still recognized as common law marriages. The law prevents the creation or recognition of any common law marriages that were attempted after the effective date of the act.
