Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania
To whom it may concern,
I am an American, previously married to an Egyptian who lives in America. Our marriage took place in the country of Egypt and we had it legalized in the USA. We went through a divorce and I received my American divorce decree and I'd like to have my ex-spouse meet me at the embassy of Egypt (which is required) to have a legalized divorce in Egypt as well. However he is stretching out time and is being very difficult about finalizing a divorce in Egypt as well.
My question is: Is there anything that the law or a lawyer can do, to help me with my divorce in his country of orgin, here in America!? And/Or is it possible that a lawyer could send him a letter demanding that he enters the embassy to sign the paper for divorce!? I feel in a sense that I am trapped and I'd like to move on with my life, as he already did. I have the original documents of both the marriage certificate in Egypt and my final divorce decree in America.
Any help, is much appreciated!
Thank you for your time!

Why you're legal divorced in the US. Whether Egypt recognizes your divorce or not is not an issue here in the US.
