Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Confusion

My ex said that her b/f's Uncle will represent her for free. Can a lawyer represent someone for free while they charge their other clients a fee? If not, what should you do? I have the letter that she wrote this on. Thank you for your help.

Re: Confusion

Of course we can. Lawyers are free to charge what the market will bear or not.

I have clients that pay more than others because they became clients before I upped my rates. At the time there was nothing in the retainer agreement to allow me to charge more.

Additionally lawyers sometime discount bills. I did that to a client and explained it as because I can. Besides what are they going to do complain to fee arbitration board that I charged them less than I said I would.

Then again free isn't all its cracked up to be. Its true, sometime you get what you pay for.
