Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

consiliation conference question

In a custody case when you're required to attend a consiliation conference and you DO NOT what should be the outcome of the conference?...If it is referred for a judge to hear all the details how will the judge view the party who didn't attend the required conference?

Re: consiliation conference question

Assuming you were ordered to attend you in contempt. At a minimum you should have asked for a different time for the meeting.

Even if the court doesn't find you in contempt they are not going to be happy with you for skipping the conference. The whole point of the conference was to attempt to reach a custody agreement without a court hearing. Most judges don't like having custody hearings and you lack of cooperation is not going to help you especially if there was any chance to settle it with a conference.
