Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

contempt of a conceliation recommendation

My ex-husband and I went through a custody hearing about 2 years ago, since then we went infront of a conceliator(for the second time) and she gave me more visitation with our son. My ex-husband was recommended to go to therapy to help him work on co-parenting better with me and to move his wife and her opinions further to the back burner, he has not done so. He allows her to run his life and the decisions when it comes to our son. he has not followed by the recommendations and no one seems to want to make him. He won't work with me on much when it comes to our son. He has taken over almost complete authority to our son and tells me minumim. If I do one thing out of the order, it is held against me. What can I do? I can barely afford an attorney, I pay child support for my son (including in the summer when I have physical custody of him), I am a full time student and also a work student at HACC so I don't make much, my husband had to get a part time job to help me with the child support and for us to pay our bills.

Re: contempt of a conciliation recommendation

If the recommendation for counseling was made part of the order,as opposed to just part of his report to the court then if he didn't do the counseling then he is in contempt of the order.

If he is in contempt then you can file a petition and have the court make him do the counseling. Though how effective counseling would be is questionable.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me. The initial consultation is free.
