Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Contempt of court in divorce case

My ex-husband was ordered to pay alimony or equitable distribution along with 1/2 of 2001 and 2002 income taxes. Based on my records he has not paid nearly $10,000 that he was ordered to pay. Can I sue him civilly? If not, what needs to be done? Motion to Comply or contempt of court? Not sure what the appropiate step would be.

A motion for contempt would be the most appropriate and liable to get results. You should speak to a lawyer. I offer free initial consultations.

A petition for contempt and enforcement can be filed with the court, seeking his compliance with the Order, and also requesting attorneys fees and costs for having to do so. Please contact me if you want to discuss further. I have several office locations. DivorceinPennsylvania.com
