Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

contempt of custody court order

A contempt petition has been filed for complete disobedience of a court custody order handed down by the judge in January where a medical card was to be issused to my son. My son has shared legal custody and this has been a constant problem. The mother refuses to provide any medical information to my son in reference to my grandson. She not only changed insurances and doctors without my son's knowledge but lists herself only as the responsible party. Now that the petition is filed in court and are now waiting for a hearing date, the medical cards finally is being produced. Can the contempt still continue through the court system because legal fees are also included in the petition. My son has been asking for a year for a medical card and be included in the medical decisions which is clearly stated in the custody order. The mother of my grandson along with her attorney were very disrespectful to the judge at that time and she was to provide this information within thirty days (due in January). She basically ignored that part of the order and is in contempt but will the court see it that way?

Re: contempt of custody court order

Yes they will. The court may still consider sanctions against the mom even though she has cured the contempt.
