Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania
court hearing
My son and his wife were notified rather late that they have a court hearing on Wed., and they've not had enough time to prepare and gather their witnesses in regard to cyber schooling for their child. The child's father is against this. My son and his wife were both teaching at a camp for the last week and had little time for preparation. Can they ask the court for a postponement? This was already postponed once because of other circumstances. Also, why does my son need to be evaluated by a psychologist for a school dispute? He is the stepfather. An older child has attended cyber school for two years. Please let me know what the options are. Thank you.

Re: court hearing
If the other side got a continuance then they could likely get one.
Otherwise they are not likely to get one.
If they knew and chose to do other things rather than prepare the court is not likely to cut them any slack.
Every law suit in PA comes with a Notice to Defend. This is a document that's pretty clear.
In plain English it means:
1) You have been sued.
2) Here's where to find a lawyer.
3) Here's we to find Legal Aid.
4) This is import and don't delay.
So what is their excuse for not being prepared?
