Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania
I have a court order in place and I am only allowed to see my daughter twice a month on Saturday. Tomorrow is one of the day's that I am able to spend time with my child and the mother just informed me today that they are not going to be home. Is there something that can be done about this? This is a getting to know my child process, so now I feel like I am being cheated out of a day when I don't see her that often. The child resides in a different county. The mother lives in Ridley, PA and I am from Philadelphia, PA. What are my options?

You can file a contempt petition against the child's mother. It won't get your time back but it will force mother to explain why she thinks she doesn't have to follow the order.

You can file a contempt petition in the county in which the order was entered. You could ask for make up time for time lost. I would keep a calendar of when you have the child and when it is denied. I do not necessarily recommend going to court if this is the first incident of being denied visitation.
