Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

custody rights

Im pregnant, and I am not with the father of my baby. He has a girl friend but we are all friends. I myself is with someone else... i just found out recently I was pregnant, but we all worked through it and all stayed friends. However, he says he will let me have full custody of the baby as long as he can still see it. I have a great full time job, he has no job. I have a good home, he does not. Plus he has no money, and nothing to offer me or the baby. So since he says he will give me all perental rights as long as he can still see the baby... what would I have to do to make sure he wont screw me over as time goes on??? Also, he says he wont be on the birth cetificate either I will be the only one, and the baby will have my last name. He just wants to be able to see the baby whenever he wants..... so, in the end can i get a paper signed making him give up all rights?? Plus, he dont have money, and he dont want me going to court on him making him pay child support.... please help me I am so confused and I dont know what to do!!!!

Re: custody rights

He is not really doing you any favors. He cannot just give up his parental rigths and responsiblities, unless there is someone else who is going to adopt. You do not do yourself or your child any favors by not pursuing child support-you always have the right to do so. At some point, hopefully, he will work, or the court wold give him an earning capacity.
