Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

My daughter lives in Princeton Virginia with my granddaughter. She lives with father of child. Relationship is over. My child wants to relocate to Philadelphia and live with me where I can help raise and support my grandchild. Can my child pack up and leave and move to another state if she has informed the father of her child that she is leaving him?

The applicable law here is Virginia law. So you would have to consult with a Virginia lawyer. That said under Pennsylvania law which wouldn't apply you would only have the standing to seek custody if the child lived with you for 6 months. You don't say how old the child is but under PA law the child's preference is only 1 of many factors used to determine custody.
