Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

My daughter's mom wants to get braces for my daughter that are not medically necessary, my insurance only covers part. My daughter doesn't need the braces, not cosmetically or medically and her mother is insisting to get them for her. It's going to cost me $ 1800 more than insurance will cover and I can't afford to pay it. My daughter's mother apparently signed some sort of agreement to pay with the dentist and the dentist will not send me the documents that she signed, nor will they cancel the appointment. Am I within my rights to refuse payment and/or cancel the appointment? -

If you have joint legal custody you do have a say. Further, the dentist must inform you of your daughter's treatment.
