Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

I am in Default with a divorce. I have NOT answered his complaint, I am getting spousal support. Is the judge going to automatically order alimony permanently to me after 27 years of marriage and I wasn't working and on SSI before I sued him for spousal support? They cut off my SSI when I got spousal support. Will that be reinstated then when I have no income if alimony isn't automatically ordered?

The court will not automatically enter alimony. You will need to retain a lawyer and file a counter-claim asking for alimony. This must be done before the divorce decree is entered or you will lose the right to claim alimony. After making a claim for alimony and after completing discovery, then a hearing will be scheduled. The court will then consider evidence and look at the alimony factors and will then make a decision regarding how much, if any alimony, and how long you should receive payments.
