Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Deployed Soldier sued for Divorce

I am overseas. My husband, in Allentown, PA sent divorce papers to me. I understand that I must answer it within 30 days of my acceptance. I signed and had it notarized on 15 November and the time is ticking from that date. What terminology should I use when answering the complaint. For each number listing the facts, should I type, ''I agree'' or how should it be worded? I need to act fast because the mail from over here is slow.

Re: Deployed Soldier sued for Divorce

You asked about divorce proceedings against a deployed soldier.

First let me say thanks for being of service to the country. My hope is that you and all other soldiers can be brought home before being put any further in harms way.

As to your situation, you need to bring your situation to the attention of the JAG office. Your company commander also should be informed. Don't worry, they see this all the time and are trained to advise properly without judging. They can best help you to resolve your situation. This can range from having the matter stayed (stopped) until you can take leave, helping to file an answer, arranging for stateside representation and whatever else you may need. DO NOT try to do this on your own. Get help with this matter (pass it off or stay proceedings). You need to focus on the task at hand and do not need to be worried about such matters.

Write back if you need further assistance.

Regards,
