Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Divorce Decree Paperwork

I recieved paperwork from my husbands attorney that I want to sign in reference to our divorce being finanalized. The only thing I am unsure of is if me signing the to page document will waive the court order that I have for child support. The two page document states that we are both agreeing to a qucik process for the divorce and asking for the decree to be issued, it also talks about alimony and property. We have no property together and I do not want alimony. I want the divorce as quick as possible becasue were together as husband and wife for three months but married for two yeas by the courts and I have been waiting this long for the paperwork becasue I was waiting for him to pay for the divorce. Please help, the document says nothing about child support but I just want to be sure that by singing it will get him out of paying. The document is entitled waiver of consent affidivat for divorce decree?

Re: Divorce Decree Paperwork

Well it should not effect that, but from this distance I would NOT rely on Web advice. Call the local bar association and get a local lawyer to check it out. Rules differ by county. The cost should be minimal.

If this is a divorce on grounds of separation then there is no 30 day limit.

For your own peace of mind spend the $50 to $100 it should cost to see a lawyer.
