Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania
Divorce without a lawyer
My husband and I are getting divorced. He has filed a complaint back in October and I guess he did not do any of the other steps...does it mean that we have to start everything from the scratch? Or what do we do next? We have no property/children issues....pls advise...I need to know what to do ASAP...cause we paid over $300 to file that complaint....

No you have 2 years from date of filing before the Prothonotary will get concerned and dismiss the complaint.
Depending on the grounds for divorce what needs to be done may very.
Assuming its a consent divorce you couldn't have filed the additional papers till January any way.
Check with the local law library they may have the forms you need to complete and file.
If you have any questions feel free to contact me. The initial consultation is free.

Adams County Pennsylvania has a good packet of information online in Adobe format. Your next step is to file Affidavits of Consent. There are commercial forms available on the internet with instructions as well but you are probably best off using the Adams County forms and just substituting your own County name in the caption. If you paid over $300.00 to file the Complaint, then you either live in a County where the filing fees are extremely steep or your husband filed through an attorney. If you get confused by the forms, you may want to go back to the attorney that filed the Complaint and simply ask him what it would cost to finish the divorce since you consent to it.
