Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

RE: Divorce and Paternity

John:

Thank you for your answer. However, there has been no DNA test done as the child isn't born yet. Also, I filed for a no contest divorce, because she was at one point, in agreement to the divorce. I went thru a lawyer who handles no contest divorces for a set fee and we won't have to go to gourt (yes, the $195 divorce!) We were trying to get the divorce done quickly and inexpensively since we both agreed and there are no marital assets other than our child, and because of her pregnancy. Now I'm concerned she is trying to get over and nail me for a child she KNOWS isn't mine. From what I've researched, generally a child conceived is assumed to be the husbands and I'm worried!! Is there papers or something I can sign stating that the child isn't mine??

Re: RE: Divorce and Paternity

Actually its the child of an intact marriage or with in the gestational period of the end of an intact marriage.

Even when you think it will be a divorce on consent I always prepare for the possibility that there will not be a consent so you include the ground of 2 years separation its one more paragraph but its a lot cheaper than having to amend the complaint.

Let me guess the divorce is filed in Cameron County.
