Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

I am engaged to get married next year to a woman who has 1 child in college now and another that will start next year. She is divorced and gets no help for school from her ex. We are being told that if we get married the kids could lose their financial aid because my income will be considered. If I'm not adopting these kids how can my income count against their aid, these kids are not my responsibility, so why should their mother and I have to postpone getting married for 4 years.

You should pose this question to the financial aid folks, not here. Chances are that your income will be considered part of "household income," which is probably the yardstick for determining if financial aid will be distributed. But directly ask the financial aid folks exactly how they calculate income and from what sources. Best of luck to you.
