Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Am I entitled

I have a bit of an odd situation. I dated my husband off and on for several years. We were married on March 28, 2007 and he filed for divorce about three weeks later deciding he didn't want to be married afterall.

He led me into marriage on false pretenses: that he loved me, found a house for us to rent, wanted to adopt my daugther, spend our life together. It all turned out to be lies.

He married me and then took me home to my mother's. I saw him once after that before he filed for divorce deciding this wasn't what he wanted.

I do have health problems. He did add me to his insurance. And from day one he ''billed'' me for the amount removed from his paycheck.

I have not been able to pay him since the amount is four (yes four times more than he told me it would be). He said he is having me dropped. Can he do this?

Is there any way I can apply for spousal support until the divorce is final? We don't own anything together.

Re: Am I entitled

You asked about spousal support.

Yes you can seek spousal support, while the divorce is pending, and you can also seek that he maintain you on his health insurance policy. Further, due to the nature of the relationship you may be able to obtain alimony and continued health coverage.

In the least you will be eligible for COBRA coverage through the employer.

Go immediately and speak with a family law attorney near you. If you are in a dire financial situation you can speak with a legal clinic near you and see if they can take your case.

No matter what, the father of the child should have an order of support entered against him for the support of the child and also should be required to maintain the child on his health insurance policy if applicable.

This all needs to be started right away. DO NOT GO THROUGH WITH THE DIVORCE UNTIL GETTING SOUND LEGAL ADVICE.

Regards,

Roger
