20 years ago, I retained an attorney in a divorce proceeding because of my husband's physical abuse. My husband & I attended marriage counseling on this attorney's recommendation and we reconciled. Now, my husband has retained my former attorney in divorce proceedings against me. Is it ethical for this attorney to represent him?

You asked about ethics of an attorney representing your husband.

It is a questionable situation and your attorney should bring this to the attention of the other attorney. It may be that the prior attorney's conflicts check missed this.
