Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

My ex-boyfriend currently has custody of my son. Per a court order, I have my son every other weekend. I am getting married in a few weeks and it just so happens that the weekend I get married does not fall on my weekend with my son. Is there anything that can be done (signed paper, court order, judge decree) that will give me the right to have my son at my wedding.

Just try asking him if for at least for the wedding you can have your son. Most custody orders allow for either temporary or permanent changes by agreement of the parties.

Besides it's the cheapest way to accomplish what you want.

I agree that asking your child's father is the first (and easiest) step. If he says no as a way to be vindictive somehow, you could file an emergency motion with the court ASAP and let a court decide. He's going to look like a huge jerk if it makes it to court too, so I bet he backs down once it's filed. It certainly won't make for calm waters between you two, but it will probably get you what you want on your wedding day if the child's father won't otherwise play nice.

Best of luck to you, and congratulations. If you'd like to discuss your situation in further detail, feel free to contact me offline.
