Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

ex-husband

I am divorced and have an 11-year old daughter. My ex and I have no written custody agreement. Occasionally, he calls me and we arrange a visit for her. Sometimes, I feel he only asks for a visit in order to see me and fight with me. We argue, and it gets nasty. Often, he threatens me and my family. I had a PFA agasint him a few years ago, but it's expired. Recently, he put a lock on his door and wouldn't let me leave. I was stuck there for hours. Can I do anything about this? Would I be doing something wrong by refusing to visit him?

Re: ex-husband

First, file to get a custody order.

Second, if he did indeed lock you in he could be charged with false imprisonment, a misdemeanor in PA.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me. The initial consultation is free.
