Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

My father recently died, upon his death she presented me with adoption papers involving my sister. Aparently my father adopted her. However, conversations with my father years ago indicate that the adoption was not legal. He also indicated that he was not orderd by the court to provide child support to her when he an my mother seperated and subsequently divorced. How can I confirm this information for the purposes of listing rightful heirs. Why would the courts decide that he was no obligated to pay support for the adopted child?. Would that mean that there was a flaw in the adoption? You response is appreciated. I am in PA. Thank you

Your situation is somewhat complex and would need to be reviewed by an attorney. You should take what information you have and meet with an aTtorney assuming you are the legal representative of the Estate. I assume there was a will and you were named executor if not then the executor named would have the responsibility to determine and commence probate. if you were the executor or if there is no will and you desire to file as administrator then you should speak with an attorney.
