Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

The father of my 7 week old daughter and I are not married. We split up and I was wondering If I let him have her for the weekend to see her does he have to give her back at the end of the weekend? Or can he refuse to give her back to me? Neither of us have formally filed for custody, I can not make it down to the office until monday. I dont want to keep her from him but I dont want him to not return her to me. What are the laws involving unmarried custody?

Whether you are married to the child's father or not makes no difference as to custody.

Without a custody order there is no guarantee that he will give the child back. Though if he didn't you could file for special relief to force him to give the child back. Though that adds to the difficulty and expense of litigating the custody matter.
