Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania
If someone files a PFA in Penn., then calls for you to meet them to pick up your child & text you. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of the PFA?

It does not defeat the purpose of the PFA because the defendant would still have to stay away from the person in whose favor the PFA was granted. But, the person against whom the PFA was entered is asking for trouble if he goes to meet the person who holds the PFA, even if it is for the purpose of picking up his child. He should ask someone to pick up his child, or have someone ask the other parent to let a third party deliver the child to the other parent. By meeting the parent in whose favor the PFA was entered, the other parent is just asking for trouble because it would not take much for the other parent to call the police and claim that the other parent was harassing them. Then, the other parent would be arrested and could be jailed for up to 6 months.
Have the PFA modified for curbside pickup and return in the presence of. A thurd person or pickup and delivery at. A police station. You can't be TOO careful.
