How to find true income of spouse

I am embroiled in divorce proceedings with stubborn wife. She has been a hair dresser for 30 years. I am certain she makes more money than she admits to or claims on her taxes. She currently gets spousal support which is killing me, because I am stuck with the high mortgage payments until settlement, and she wants alimony on top of 60% of everything. All we have left is the house, which was refinanced with both incomes at the time, plus my pension and annunity.

If I can prove that she makes more than she claims, I will feel like I am getting a fair deal, if I can't I know I won't. Any suggestions???

Well if she has no problem lying to IRS about her income then you've got a tough problem. Though not insurmountable. Assuming she has submitted a tax return as proof of income. You need to take a closer look at what she claims for business expenses. I doubt their padded but they should give a good idea of what amount of business she's really doing. You especially need to look at the supply expenses. Thing like the chemical required for Perms and Dye jobs as well as other consumables. It may show that her income is understated vs the amount of consumables she's using.
