Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

grandparents righta

I have not been in contact with my mother for a year. I am going to have a baby and do not want her to contact or visit me or the baby. she has no knowledge of my pregnancy. My husband and I are happily married, both have stable jobs and clear records. Can I be assured that my mother (the grandmother) cannot sue for grandparent's rights because my spouse and I are married?

Re: grandparents righta

No you can't be assured of anything. However, for her to have any rights she needs to have standing. I can think of no statute or case law that would give her standing. So she can't take you to court to enforce anything.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me. The initial consultation is free.
