Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania
Grandparents Rights
We are Grandparents to 3 children and their Mother is our daughter. Her and her husband have split and she has gone wild, the father has made alot of mistakes also and is not ready to take on 3 kids but the mother will not let us have the kids. I want to get temporary custody until the parents start acting like parents. The mother will not let the father see the kids and the father said he will sign over the temporary custody to my husband and I, but our daughter said no. I feel these kids are not in a safe place right now, what are my rights ??? Can I force her to sign over temporary custody, she has no job, lives with her boyfriend that is a lowlife and the kids want to stay with me and see their dad. Forget the state help, we went that route and they did nothing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Grandparents Rights
The only way for you to get custody is to file a petition for custody. Your burden will be to show that you consider it necessary to assume responsibility for a child at risk due to parental abuse neglect or illness.
In the alternative dad could seek custody and voluntarily give it to you.
