guardianship

What rights do i have legally ? I have guardianship of my 15 month old grandson for 7 months now and before that he lived with my x-husband. His parents are breaking up and his mother is very young and on welfare and has no where to go and his father is going to jail in january for kidnapping,robbery,and assault.

Do you have a guardianship or custody? There's a big difference.
