Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Harrasment

I sent my husband's daughter (17 soon to be 18 in 2 weeks) an email on MySpace asking if she received the emails from my husband because we have not received a response in 1 year. All the emails have to go thru her mother. It was a short, simple nice email. Next thing I know the mother calls and leaves a voicemail on any answering machine screaming and stating she was going to press charges for being a child predator but instead of my name- she uses my 2 year old daughters' name. I was steamed she threatened with a serious charge like that! I called her back and had quite a few choice words with her. Now we have received a letter from a lawyer in their home state of Texas stating we were harassing my husband's daughter. Can I press charges for a verbal threat against my daughter? We are in PA and she is in Texas.

Re: Harassment

First save the voice mail. Second save you email.

If she made a threat to anyone then its a crime and you could file criminal charges.

I wouldn't contact the mother directly. I would contact her lawyer enclosing a copy of the email.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me. The initial consultation is free.
