Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania
Hi,
I'm a 22 year old single mom to a wonderful 2 year old boy. I've raised him on my own with the help of family for the past 2 years. We lived at home for a while now on our own on an apartment which I pay for. We've spent majority of the two years in a hospital .. my son was born prematurly having a brain hemorrhage with post hydrocephalus. He's had about 5 brain surgeries and about 8-10 airway surgeries for stenosis of the airway and recurring cyst removal.. along with a tracheostomy tube placed from age 13 months till 21 months. He is exceeded every medical prediction that was made for him at birth and is truly a miracle and I'm proud to say I've been there by his side through everything. Being 19, my original plan was adoption.. the father and I were merely acquaintances who met at a college party who formed a friendship which became more then that. I had told the father I was pregnant by phone and he was shocked but showed no emotion. Through out the pregnancy I had reached out to him through text and phone calls. He wanted no involvement and pushed me away.. my plan being adoption I decided he no longer had a part in my life.. I went into labor at 25 weeks, I decided to keep the baby after birth.. I texted him and informed him and explained how sick the baby was but he showed little to no emotion about the baby. Frustrated and emotionally drained from everything going on I had little contact with the father the next few months.. informing him only if the babies condition worsened, I felt he should still know regardless of his lack of involvement. He has never tried to reach out and I have never seeked him out. My son receives SSI and that is our monthly income. My son being in and out of the hospital so much makes it impossible to keep a job and putting him in daycare would further jeopardize his health. I'm seeking legal advice to inform me if it is worth filing child support or will this just be.more of a hassle ? .. will it affect the social security benefits? Also the father I'm unaware of his job status but from when I knew he didn't work. Please I'm in need of advice, email me back at your earliest convenience.

I think you live in Delaware County...I do a considerable amount of work in Media area and can meet somewhere close to there.
Don't give up whatever you do. God takes care of his children, and you and your baby are certainly among them.
