Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Had a huge fight with my husband, and walked out on him and my two young children. This same night he changed the locks on our house (in his name, I've lived there for 9 years), took my van (in his name but I have been driving for 9 years) and took my cell phone. He will not let me see my kids and will not allow me to get any of my belongings. Is he permitted to just change the locks on the house because I walked out after a fight? Every time we have a fight he takes my van, my cell phone, and never lets me have anything that is mine. He works full time, and I am a full time housewife and mother. I need to know what rights I have. Please someone put me in the right direction. Your help/assistance is greatly appreciated.

You should consider filing for a divorce in addition you have the right to see your children and in fact have the right to atempt to obtain custody. You will have to file a custody petition with the domestic relations department in the county where the children reside. You can also file for spousal support while you are separated if you expect the separtion to last for an extended period of time. You may have some rights in the assets mentioned. If your husband purchased the house in his name prior to your marriage then the appreciation of the value of the home would be marital property. If he purchased while you were married but only in his name then the entire property would be marital. You would be well advised to consult with an attorney immediately as the facts of all cases may influence the results.
