Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

husband and paternity test

I had a fiance and was raped by another man. I found out that I was pregnant and so do not know if the father was my fiance or my attacker. My fiance moved up the wedding date and married me saying he would be he father either way. He has since left me and filed for divorce. I am contesting the divorce for a variety of reasons.

Will I have to allow him a paternity test when the baby is born? Due to the traumatic nature of what has happened to me I would rather not know either way if the baby was a result of the rape. I love the baby (am 6 onths pregnan) and do not need ot know paternity.

Re: husband and paternity test

You asked about enforcing paternity of a child against a husband.

You need to speak with a family law attorney immediately.

Failure to do so right away will prejudice your rights.

You have my best wishes that you get through this traumatic time and both you and your child go on to be healthy and happy.

Again, you need to speak with an attorney about this matter and s/he can best advise you on how to proceed.

Regards,

Roger
