Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

I would like to know why if my ex husband has a violent past and a pfa pertaining to me that he has so much access to our 2 children.he also has a girlfriend who has supervised visits with her children and that is being investigated in the death of her 1 year old son but is allowed to be around my children

Given that the custody law has changed that's a good question. Depending on the criminal convictions they have there me need to be a review of the situation.
