Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania
Items left at residence by previous partner
With partner approx. 9 years, broke up, never married but lived together. House in my name. Partner moved out but has items left behind. House is sold. What legally do I need to do to avoid being liable if items not removed. Do I need to give written notice of a final date for removing? If so, how long must I give and how must it be sent, certified? If items still not removed, am I obligated to store somewhere else or can they be removed any means necessary?

Re: Items left at residence by previous partner
Your best bet is to send a letter certified mail, return receipt requested giving as much notice as possible and stating that if the property is not picked up or other arrangements made that it will be considered abandoned and you will dispose of it as you see fit.
