Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

legal seperation/divorce in PA.

in articles that I have read it states that after a 2 year period of seperation the courts will grant a divorce, but how do the courts know of this 2 year period, what papers should I have filed? I am in my 4th year of seperation.

Re: legal separation/divorce in PA.

Unlike other states there is no legal separation in Pennsylvania.

So how does the court know you been separated 2 years. Simple you say so in an Affidavit.

Of course you did file 2 years separation as one of the grounds for your divorce. If you didn't you will have to ask the court for permission to add that ground to your petition. It's not an impossible task but one you could have avoided by filing the right paperwork up front.
