Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania
I live in Montgomery county, pennsylvania, and i have a question regarding paternity. I am pregnant and the father wants nothing to do with the child, and his biggest concern is that he pay no child support. He had papers drafted saying that we both voluntarily agree to him giving up his rights, although I actually do not agree to it. he already owes me money for previous expenses and the only way he will pay me back is if i sign these papers. So my quesitons are, first of all could these papers actually be legit? and if they are, can we actually sign off on that before the baby is born? and second, is there anything i can do or someone i can tell about him making me sign these to get my money back from him?

Well I'm sorry he doesn't want to pay child support.
Are the papers legit? Well answer this question what lawyer did he use to draft them? If he id himself what's his Supreme Court ID number.
The fact of the matter is a contract not to go after someone for child support is ILLEGAL. That said I would NOT sign anything,
Since the fee for my initial consultation is $0. You might want to talk to me. Consultations can be accomplished by phone, So feel free to contact me.

Even if you agreed, he cannot relinquish his responsibility to support the child. You should contact a lawyer prior to the child's birth so that you are prepared to address support and potential custody issues. My office is in the heart of Norristown, a 1/2 block from the Montgomery County Courthouse and the domestice relations office.
I have represented numerous individuals in your situation.Don't let him iontimidate you or deceive you into signing anything! These types of agreements will NOT be enforced by the Court.
I also live and handle cases in Montgomery County, so feel free to call me fora free phone consultation. I will try to be considerate of your financial situation as far as fees.
