Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania
I live in Pa. Spouse has retained atty and filed divorce. I have zero income and cannot afford atty,. I answered the divorce petition pro se and filed for spousal support. Hearing is Sept 4th, 2013. He threw me out on 06/20/2013 with no money, no job ( he asked me in Oct 2012 to quit my job and go OTR wth him, he's a truckdriver, and we were doing this up until 6/10/2013. I had to beg a relative for place to stay, he stopped paying for my medications that Ive been on for 15 yrs. and gave me nothing when I left. he had our 19 yr old son put me out, lease was in his name. I want to know if I contact his attorney and asked that he give me a lump sum settlement form his 2 pension funds ( union and PepsiCo) am I doing myself harm? I believe now that he has paid off my sons tuition in cash that he has quit his job. He also is on a back to work program with ssd so between the job and ssd he gets about 7 k per month. Ive have a hard time functioning without my meds (bipolar patient) which he was paying for and this makes job searching extremely hard.I understand I more that I likely would sign off on future dividends but really need the funds to find a permanent place to to live and get back on my meds. Is this a good or bad idea to approach his atty with this offer prior to support hearing? Thank you in advance.

Time to file for spousal support an attorney's fees. He also has to keep up the medical insurance.
