Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania
someone living in my house
I was thrown out of my house by my abusive husband 1/2 yrs ago. 3 of my 4 kids are there with their dad. Ipay child support, and now he has someone living there with her child. We are not divorced, no court orders. A cop told me that I should be able to collect rent. The house is in both our names. My question is am I entitled to some kind of compensation?

Well, your cop friend is wrong, as is frequently the case with non-lawyers giving legal advice. Presumably your husband is paying the mortgage and taxes. If its a multi-family then the rental income might come into play. The bottom line is that you need to see an attorney and get a divorce action started to resolve your legal rights.
