Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Do LLC protection laws protect my business assets & income during divorce?

I am starting a business (with one other partner) and Im also at the beginning stages of filing for divorce. I actually have not filed the paper work for either at this point. My intentions were to file the paper work for the LLC this week. However, if the LLCs assets will be on the table during the asset allocation I will wait to register the LLC until after the divorce. Do LLC protection laws protect the assets of the business from divorce? I do not want the business or my business partner to be negatively affected by my divorce.

You would be well served to run this by the attorney that is setting up your LLC as well as the attorney handling your divorce. They probably should consult with each other.
