Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Marriage-Destruction of personal property

We have been married 9-1/2 years and lived together since 1995. When we got married, it was my husband's second marriage and my first. He already had his own house which I moved into and 1 year after I moved in, he gained custody of his 3 year old daughter. My husband worked nights and while he was at work, I was his daughter's caregiver.

The house is always ''his'' house, his TV, his car (which I am not allowed to drive). When he refers to anything that he paid for, it is always referred to as ''my'' this, ''my'' that. Over the past two years I have noticed items that I brought with me when I moved in, have disappeared. These were heirlooms and collectibles and antiques, some of which I had all my life and can never be replaced. I was never permitted to display any of these items. I asked my husband where they were, he said he didn't know. I know he threw these items away (many were in boxes stored in the basement). If we were ever divorced, would I have any legal recourse? Everything I had, which is now gone, is listed in our pre-nuptual agreement, all the receipts were stored

Re: Marriage-Destruction of personal property

This hardly sounds like a healthy relationship. To have legal recourse you would have to prove that your husband was responsible for t the destruction or disposal of your property. This would not be easy.

If you have any questions feel free to contact me. The initial consultation is free.
