Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

We got married last August in Jamaica and were told we don't have to register our license at the county courthouse. Is our marriage recognized in the USA?

Why wouldn't it be recognized? You can call the court house and ask if they even have a way of registering the marriage.
