Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Medication????

My son has recently been prescribed medication for ADHD, however; his mother and I have joint custody. She has our three children during the summer and I have them the rest of the year since we live 700 miles apart. His mother does not want him to take the medication. Do I hhave the right to medicate him without her consent? I feel that I should be able to since she is in contempt of our existing custody order and she has not paid child support in the past two years.

Re: Medication????

You asked about providing prescribed medication against the wishes of the non-custodial parent.

The question is rather not what are the opinions of the parents but rather what is in the best interests of the child.

This is really a question that is answered between the custodial parent, the child and his medication manager.

Regards,

Roger
