okay so my mom just had a baby back in october and was debating on giving the baby up for adoption and the adoption family wants the baby but my mom wants my grandma to have the baby who has more right?

That depends on whether the adoption was finalized and/or your mother's parental rights were terminated. If her rights have not been terminated and the adoption not started, then she has the right to choose whoever she wants to give the child for adoption (pending court approval of course). If her rights were terminated and the adoption was finalized, then the adoptive parents have the rights to the child. If the adoption was started, but not finalized, your mother may be able to revoke her consent. She should speak with an attorney as soon as possible as there are deadlines to revoke consent.
