my moms husband is a crack addict who gets ssi, if we call the cops they say that theres nothing that they can do to get him out of our house. is there anything we can do?

There may be nothing the cops can do civilly to get him out of the house, but they will surely arrest him if he's in violation of Pennsylvania criminal laws. If he's a crack addict, I'm sure there's something illegal close to him -- drugs, paraphernalia, stolen goods, etc. Rat him out to the cops and he'll be out of the house for at least a while. During that time, you and your mother can make other housing plans as necessary. Best of luck to you.

If he is physically abusive, she can file a protection from abuse petition and go to court to get him out. Otherwise, through a divorce, we can file certain documents with the court to get him out of the house. Simply calling the police will not do it.
