Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Mother passed away

My sister and I are named as beneficiaries on a policy from a pension she recieved when she divorced her husband 6 years ago. The amount that Laborer's is stating as being owed is from the amount that was held from his paychecks. The question we have is since she was entitled to 60% of the principal wouldn't that include the amount that was matched and also the intrest and the amount that would have accrued from 23 years of marriage. I just want to make sure that we don't get taken advantage of because our uncle has stated that the amount in question should be of a pretty sizable amount. We live in Beaver County, PA. Thanks for any help.

Re: Mother passed away

My first thought is that it should include accrued interest and any matched amount. However, to be certain, the pension policy and any relevant records from the divorce would have to be reviewed to determine what you are owed. Feel free to contact me if you wish to discuss this further.
