Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania
Moving children to other states
My bf has 4 kids with his ex, he keeps 2 kids and she keeps 2. They have been separated for over a year now. They verbally decided that the 2 boys would live with their dad and the 2 girls would live with their mom and the kids would vist back and forth every weekend. They have no legal custody agreement and aren't even divorced yet.His ex has decided to move from Pa to Jersey with her new bf and plans on taking their 2 girls with her. What, if anything, can he do to keep her from taking the kids out of state to live? He's a good father and the girls have been here all their lives, their brother's are here and their grandmothers and family all live here in Pa.Doesn't that count for something?

Re: Moving children to other states
Without a court order preventing a move she can move where she wishes. The parties should put something in writting and have a lawyer file a joint petition for custody specifying who has to do what. For example the mother may move to New Jersey but must bring the girls to PA for visitation every weekend. I offer free consultations.
