Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Moving across state lines with my child

Can I move across state lines with my child when I break up with my boyfriend, the father of my child? If so what kind of documentation do I need if any?

Re: Moving across state lines with my child

You asked about relocating with a child.

Unless there is a custodial order which would interfere with a move then either parent can move out of state with a child. If there is a dispute the non-custodial parent could bring a court challenge. If the challenge is brought immediately then the matter would be heard in the state where the child resided previously. As time goes on the locus will shift and the non-custodial parent will be required to bring the matter in the child's present jurisdiction.

Regards,

Roger
